What exactly is Project Ojibwa?
Project Ojibwa sets out to obtain, preserve and operate H.M.C.S. Ojibwa as a Museum reflecting our naval heritage. The H.M.C.S. Ojibwa is a submarine that was built by the Canadian Navy in 1965 and decommissioned in May of 1998 after serving most of her career with the Maritime Forces Atlantic. Maritime Command had intentions of selling the Ojibwa for scrap metal in 2005, however in June of 2010 the submarine had become a part of the collection for the Elgin Military Museum (EMM). The (EMM) has intentions of making the Ojibwa into a museum ship, therefore creating Project Ojibwa.
